January 24 - 26
We’re thrilled to join together for an informative, collaborative, and enjoyable week during our second annual Vasion Company Kick-off (CKO)! Our theme for 2022 is ‘Together’ as we embark on a new year of learning, growing, and creating as one.
We’ve got a fun-filled week of activities designed to bring all Vasioneers together, so get ready and let the adventure begin!
Don’t miss any CKO happenings by following this detailed itinerary. All scheduling times listed are in the Mountain Standard Time (MST) time zone.
We’re kicking off 2022 by hearing from our keynote speaker, author Kim Scott, who wrote our book of focus this year, Radical Candor. We look forward to learning from Kim’s insights during her keynote, followed by a two-hour workshop discussing how to implement the principles from her book into the new year.
Don’t forget to bring your copy of Radical Candor for Kim to sign!
Get ready for an evening of glitz and glamour with dinner and a show. You won’t want to miss Broadway performer and magician, Rhett Guter, as he dazzles us with a magical performance.
Please come dressed in your best semi-formal attire–even better if it’s Vasion-inspired purple or classic black.
In-person and remote CKO attendees are invited to participate in this Print Experience for a chance to win a 3D printer, Oculus Quest, and additional tickets for the Tuesday evening raffle! This activity is designed to put employees in the customers’ shoes by showing you firsthand how to complete a print job and successfully navigate common print scenarios using our software.
Due to more recent spikes in the Omicron variant, for CKO we will be Covid testing all participants and requiring a negative test result to attend the event. We appreciate your cooperation as we try to navigate in this changing environment.
For International travelers, you are required to test to come into the U.S. so we will not require an additional local test. If you happened to fly in more than 2 days ahead of the event you can retest with the St. George HQ group. For any international travelers required to show a negative test on their return trip, please schedule your return Covid test ahead of time here.
For US based travelers: Unfortunately, Premier Diagnostics is NOT going to be able to fulfill our U.S. based travelers testing for CKO. Please arrange your own local Rapid Covid test Friday or Saturday at a local CVS, Walgreens, Nomi testing center or clinic before you travel to CKO. Testing costs associated can be submitted for reimbursement.
As a reminder, anyone with a positive Covid test needs to remain home and participate in CKO virtually. If you have difficulty getting a test locally, you can test at St. George Headquarters on Monday morning between 6 - 8:30 am. Please bring your insurance card, a warm jacket and wear a mask. If you test positive and you are already in St. George you will still need to participate virtually.
For the St. George HQ based team, we will be testing on-site at Vasion HQ on Monday, January 24th between 6 - 8:30 am. Please bring your insurance card, a warm jacket and wear a mask. Look for the Nomi Health testing vans in the parking lot and try to spread out your arrival times and social distance. There will not be a co-pay or cost for testing but you do need to bring your insurance card. Arrive early so you can test, get your results (approx 15 min), collect your swag and be in your seats by 9:00 am start time.
Anyone with a positive COVID test result will need to participate in CKO remotely. ALL CKO content sessions will have options for remote participation.
In addition to negative test results, we are requiring masks to be worn during the general sessions and in the green room each morning to allow for greatest participation in those sessions. We will have plenty of masks on hand for your use. Our smaller afternoon break-out sessions will be left to divisional leaders to determine wearing of masks, and we don’t plan to require masks at the Tuesday night party where food/eating is a big portion of the event or at the Wednesday activities where many activities are physical and some are outdoors.
Again, knowing the above precautions, choose your own adventure regarding CKO attendance based on what you feel most comfortable with. There is no shame in participating in a semi-virtual manner or even fully virtual. We realize that each employee has unique circumstances and request all of you to be respectful of one another and sensitive to varying circumstances and choices.
Looking forward to 2022 CKO and having you all participate in the manner that works best for you!
Attendees are responsible for booking their own flights and should be booked as soon as possible–at least two weeks prior to CKO for the best rates. Please book the most reasonable fare in coach class only. Flights are available into both Las Vegas and St. George–we recommend comparing rates and selecting the most reasonable and comfortable option.
Rental cars will only be provided for groups of two or more passengers per vehicle. Attendees are responsible for coordinating riding partners.
Single travelers flying into Las Vegas can book a convenient shuttle from McCarran airport to St. George via the St. George Shuttle. Attendees must reserve their shuttle reservation here. Transportation from the shuttle drop-off location to the hotel can be coordinated via Uber or Lyft.
For ground transportation between Vasion and hotels, we recommend carpooling with fellow employees driving rental cars or vehicles of their own. More details to come.
A block of rooms has been reserved at two neighboring hotels. Individual attendee reservation information will be sent closer to the event, including which of the following hotels you’ll be staying at:
* Both hotels offer a complimentary breakfast.
CKO is January 24-26 and all out-of-town employees need to arrive in St. George by Sunday, January 23. Although CKO is only January 24-26, we request all employees stay the full week to make the most of the experience and expense. Please plan on staying in St. George from January 23-28.
Semi-formal attire is an outfit that is dressier than what you'd wear to the office, but not as dressy as a formal evening gown or tuxedo.
If you don't already have the Openpath mobile app or a physical badge to get in to the building, reach out to IT to get access for next week.
The average temperature in St. George in January varies between 49.1°F (9.5°C) and 32.5°F (0.3°C). Since we’re in a desert climate, we highly recommend packing a jacket since temperatures drop in the evening.
CKO activities and meetings are for employees only.
All receipts for travel reimbursements will need to be submitted through the expense report system, Fyle. If you are not already set up with Fyle, contact Mary Kay. Expenses will be approved by your manager, and we ask all managers to ensure CKO expenses are within reasonable limits.
Remember to keep ALL of your receipts!
